Assists in creating, conceptualizing, and implementing graphic and digital media projects to support the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) communications strategies. Uses professional judgment and computer systems, graphic design software to produce layouts and design artwork such as programs, publications, exhibits, banners, signs, electronic and other forms of graphic art presentation. Serves as administrator of websites and other social media platforms.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position with compensation commensurate with education and experience; the salary range is $45,720 - $61,857. MSBO offers a full benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, along with employer contributions into a Simplified Employee Pension (SEP). Regular workdays are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 pm, with some night and weekend work, and some travel required. The job can include a work-from-home arrangement, if approved.

Position Responsibilities
• Develops promotional materials including conference programs, banners, signs, calendar of events, and other documents; develops themes and ideas, color schemes, and layouts; and coordinates printing and mailing.
• Creates e-newsletters, e-blasts, and maintains the MSBO website.
• Administrator for digital communications, and other social media platforms.
• Works with supervisor and other MSBO project managers to discuss objectives of the project; interprets needs and develops a concept to suit their objectives; contributes ideas and designs artwork. Creates and presents developed finalized ideas and concepts to project managers and team members.
• Produces new and creative ideas and concepts by researching and gathering information; provides estimates of time required to complete work.
• Works with a wide range of media including photography and computer software; operates computer and office machines for a variety of graphic design activities including layout, production, and illustration and file preparation.
• Coordinates and ensures a quality process and result including pre-press file preparation, print specifications, proof checks, and final approvals.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in graphic design, graphic art, graphic communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• This position requires a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training in graphic design/illustration, photographic and imaging software(Adobe Creative Suite); experience with web editing, design and maintenance (WordPress); commercial art, graphic design using computer software, experience in all phases of pre-press production and print processes; project management; photography; and experience with Macintosh and personal computers; experience with Microsoft Works; association database software; video production software, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to grasp position-specific software with minimal training.
