summary
Primarily focused on supporting the infrastructure and specialized technology systems and maintaining district connectivity.  Supported areas include all buildings, classrooms, classroom technology and district networks.  Assists in establishing and maintaining all access points, network stability, internet access, content filtering, firewall standards and other systems.  Will work in conjunction with the technology department to provide network, systems and security support for the operational health and stability of district systems and infrastructure.  Will determine how the future network needs can and will benefit the district and help lead the deployment efforts to maximize return on investment.


Position Responsibilities
• Provide hardware/software support for technology and network related components, systems and products
• Support the helpdesk requests and respond in a professional and courteous manner
• Provide security support on all security areas as needed by district leadership
• Monitor and maintain security cameras and badges
• Provide training and technical guidance to other technology department employees
• Provide scripting support for switches to configure all ports and connectivity of the network
• Provide programming design and support for the firewall, VLANs, and switches throughout the district
• Analyze and monitor server security and implement patches and fixes to address potential security holes.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Media and Technology

Qualifications
• At least a Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, IT or its equivalent. 
• Multiple years of experience with the following:
o Cisco or Dell Switches
o Ruckus Wireless Access points
o SANS and Server Backup, enterprise backup and restore software (VEEAM)
o Window Server 2008-2019
o VMWare and server virtualization, firewalls, content filtering and blocking sites
o Windows Active Directory and Cloud (Azure, Intune) infrastructures
o Palo Alto Firewall
o Managing user directory information in hybrid setups (Active Directory, Google/O365
o Linux


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
• Demonstrated ability to gather customer feedback and requirements and translate into a project plan. 
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 
• Ability to operate a personal computer and related software and willingness to learn new software. 
• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field.  
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and community.  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work to meet deadlines.   
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. 
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning information about students and staff.
